What is the Eco Council?
The School Eco Council is a group of pupils from the school who are elected to represent the voice and opinion of all the pupils in order to look after the school's environment. We look after the school environment. We make sure we know about the nine important areas.
1. Global Citizenship
2. Rubbish
3. Reduce Waste (e.g. recycling)
4. Energy
5. Water
6. School land
7. Biodiversity
8. Transport
9. Health, Wellbeing and Food

Eco Council for 2022-2023
Each year from year 2 to year 6 has elected two representatives to sit on the Eco Committee. They have an important role in promoting our school to be green. Ysgol Bro Gwydir Eco Council members represent the voice of our pupils. They are informed principled citizens who are ready to be citizens of Wales and the world. We meet once a month to have discussions about what we as a council need to work on but also to raise awareness of the need to take care of our environment and our world. The Eco Council organises a number of events and activities for the whole school.
How did we decide what to do during the year?
Environmental review of the school - a tour around the school to see what the Eco Council could improve and to see what is good. Then select points to improve in the nine eco areas and place these in the eco action plan for the year.
