Welsh Language Ambassadors

By 2050, Senedd Cymru has set a target to increase the number of Welsh speakers in our country to 1 million. As part of this plan, Schools in Wales have committed to the 'Language Charter' plan. The aim of the scheme is to encourage the social use and enjoyment of the Welsh language in schools across Wales. As part of the plan, each school has its individual targets and everyone who is part of the school's community works together to promote these targets.

As part of the school's priorities this year our aim is to:

Raise the standards of the Welsh language across the school as well as developing passion and pride for Wales and Welshness.

This is a committee of school children who feels passionately about the Welsh language and Welshness. The Ambassadors meet to discuss ideas. Our intention is that every child chooses to speak Welsh in every aspect of school life and beyond. The hope is that all children take pride in Welsh language, culture and traditions. Speaking two languages opens doors to a much more diverse community, world of work and social life. Two languages means twice the choice.
